John 3:16 Explained

Hi,

I want to quickly explain John 3:16. Arguably, the most repeated verse of the New Testament.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.“

What it actually means:

God created himself to sacrifice himself TO himself, in order to save the world FROM himself!

Yep. Utterly ridiculous.

This was one of the things said to me once by an atheist professor (not one of mine) who was from a local university (as I was attending Liberty University courses at the time) that caused me to think “Wow! I never thought of it that way!” However, I tried to push it to the back of my mind because I was invested in the ministry.
